About your practitioner
NATUROPATH, IRIDOLOGIST, YOGA & MEDITATION TEACHER
Jamie Friend, BHSc
If you had told me a decade ago that I’d be swapping hard hats and blueprints for herbal tinctures and pathology reports, I might have checked your pulse - particularly as back then, I knew nothing about health.
My career began as a project manager working on health infrastructure projects across Australia. I spent my days managing complex builds that improved the level of care practitioners could offer. But as the buildings went up, I realised I didn't just want to manage the spaces where healing happened; I wanted to be the one facilitating the healing itself.
However, I’ll be honest: I didn't set out to specialise in fertility. In fact, it wasn't even on my radar. But life has a funny way of choosing your niche for you. When my husband and I decided to start a family, it didn't happen straight away. While our wait wasn't long in the grand scheme of things, that period of uncertainty sparked something inside me that needed to know why. I started diving into further education to optimise our chances, and quite simply, I got hooked.
What started as a personal quest for answers turned into a professional obsession. During that time, a few couples were referred to me, and as I supported them through their own journeys, I fell in love with the work. Today, my practice is deeply rooted in fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and paediatric care—a path I didn't choose, but one I am now incredibly passionate about.
As someone with a plethora of different qualifications (including 2 degrees, 2 diplomas, and a “bucket-load” of certifications), my obsession for learning means I won’t stop digging until we have a roadmap that works. Because I believe health is a multi-dimensional puzzle, I have spent years collecting specialised tools to help my clients. My "bucket-load" of certifications includes microbiome interpretation, iridology, SIBO care, fertility & IVF support, and specialised pregnancy, postpartum and paediatric care. This helps me to not just look at the symptoms or the data, but also the history and the person in front of me.
In my practice, I am a firm advocate for evidence-based medicine and modern research—I want to know the why and the how behind every treatment. However, I also believe there is something sacred in traditional medicine that modern science is only just beginning to quantify. I use a combination of the two to provide care that is both clinically rigorous and deeply nurturing.
Life Beyond the Clinic
The greatest reward of my personal fertility journey is my beautiful daughter. Being her mum is my favourite role, and she is my daily reminder of why I do this work.
To keep my own cup full, I head outdoors. I have a profound love for animals and nature—whether it's a quiet walk or just breathing in the fresh air, it’s where I go to recalibrate. I believe that being connected to the earth is just as vital to our well-being as any supplement or protocol.
Why Work With Me?
I know what it feels like to be the one searching for answers, and I know the value of having a practitioner who is as invested in your outcome as you are. My approach combines the rigorous standard of modern evidence with the deep, intuitive care that your journey deserves. I promise to bring organisation, professional determination, and a whole lot of heart to our time together. I’m not just here to give you a protocol; I’m here to help you find the answers.

Absolutely! I love working with people to provide a more holistic service for you to reach your full potential. My days as a project manager made me a very good networker. I respect all fields of health, and believe naturopathy provides a very complementary service to your existing health team.

As of April 14th 2025, the Federal Health Minister announced that he had accepted the Natural Therapy Review’s recommendation to allow private health insurers to pay benefits for Naturopathy. Discussions with private health insurers to re-add Naturopathy back onto private health plans is currently taking place.

This depends on what you’re trying to treat. Some people come in for one consult, and experience immediate benefits within 1-7 days. Others have more chronic conditions that may take 3-6 months to shift. These patients will see short-term benefits, but may rely on more consults to see a permanent shift if their symptoms. I offer packages to these patients to make your consults cheaper.

Absolutely! Naturopathy is a fantastic alternative to treat asthma, eczema, acne, ear infections, sore throats, coughs, tummy aches, headaches of which children commonly experience. I also have experience with working with children with complex needs and behavioural concerns.
I also provide postpartum support for both mum and baby to make sure you both remain happy and healthy throughout this new life stage. -
Yes! You absolutely can speak to me. I respond to emails/calls. However, as I may not be able to answer, I recommend you book in a 15 minute discovery call. Please keep in mind these calls are general discussion only so I can explain how naturopathy may benefit you or your family and I do not give any advice or recommendations during this time.
